Prefabricated MEP supports, engineered for compliance.

Loadsafe makes prefabricated brackets, conduit hockey sticks, ATS frames and other bespoke supports in our workshop, 40 minutes from central London. Add a structural calculation for the loads your brackets carry when the job calls for one.

Set up a bracket on the drawing and add it to your enquiry, or send us your bracket schedule.

ScaleNot to scale

Basic channel is slotted channel cut to your length and nothing else: no rods, no drop and no assembly.

The width is the overall length of the widest part of the bracket, with the main drops set in from each end. The drop is measured from the soffit to the underside of the bracket.

Each tier has a round red handle at either end. Drag it up or down to move the tier, or sideways to shorten the tier from that end. Moving the bottom tier changes the drop. The drawing shows the clear opening between channels, which is what you have for trays and cables. It allows for the channel depth, so it changes with 41 x 41 or 41 x 21, a double bottom channel or a top header. You can also type the opening here.

A tier that carries one separate service can be shorter than the rest. Drag a handle sideways, or type how far the tier is set in. A shortened end gets its own rod, hung from the channel above where one passes over it, otherwise from the soffit. The main rods stay in place for the full width tiers.

Counted from the joints in your layout and included in the assembled bracket. Fixings into the structure are by the installing contractor.

Choose how the load sits, then click a tier on the drawing to place it. Use a point load for each tray, basket, ladder or pipe, and drag its arrow to move it. Use even distribution where cables are laid straight across the tier.

Everything built to your schedule

We make the repetitive parts of an MEP install in the workshop, so your operatives spend their time fixing, not cutting.

Prefabricated brackets

Strut channel and threaded rod, cut, assembled and ready to hang. Single or multi tier, sized to carry whatever sits on it: several trays, baskets, ladders or pipes, each at its own position.

  • Made to your channel width, drop, tiers and load points
  • Structural calculation available as an option for each bracket type
  • All fixings within the assembly torqued to the correct specification
  • Cold cut in the workshop, with no cutting at height on site

Set up a bracket in the builder at the top of the page. If you only need slotted channel cut to length, choose Basic channel there.

Conduit hockey sticks

Pre-bent conduit drops for sockets, switches and outlets, with or without the back box fitted. Threads are cut on an automated threader, so every one is the same.

ATS frames

Floor standing slotted strut frames that the automatic transfer switch sits on. They are engineered with a project manager's mindset, drawn from our history delivering London projects. The frame sets the ATS at the height you need and keeps the underside clear, so cables rise straight into the bottom cable entries of the panel.

  • Built to your required ATS height, dimensions and weight
  • Underside left open for bottom cable entry
  • Available in a hot dipped galvanised finish
  • All fixings within the assembly torqued to the correct specification
  • Every angle joint made with a 90 degree 4 hole (2 x 2) angle bracket
  • Site assembly kept simple: the frame arrives assembled, so your team fixes it down, lifts the ATS on and terminates

To price a frame we need three things from you: the height the ATS must sit at, its dimensions and its weight.

Bespoke supports

Walk under roof frames carrying containment and lighting, full height frames for risers, frames for external lighting, Unistrut frames on feet for floor mounted containment, isolator posts and frames, pipe supports hung below soffit fixed channel, goalpost frames for distribution boards and plant, cantilever arms. If it is made from strut, rod or conduit, we can make it. Choose an example above to start, or describe your own.

A hand sketch with dimensions is enough. Images, PDF or CAD files.

Structural calculations when you need them

Site-built brackets are rarely checked. Ours can be. Add a calculation to your order and each bracket type is calculated for the loads you give us, then issued for your O&M file and for anyone who asks how the supports were justified. For a small order where you do not need one, leave it off and pay only for the brackets.

    • Threaded rod in tension
    • Channel bending
    • Channel deflection

Need to know how a bracket performs in fire? Tick the fire rating box in the builder and we will call you back to talk it through.

Our calculation covers the bracket itself. Fixings to the structure are selected, designed and installed by the installing contractor, to suit the substrate on site.

    How it works

    1. Send your bracket schedule

Build the brackets in the configurator above, or send us your bracket schedule with sizes, tiers and loads.

    2. Agree types and price

We confirm the bracket types, quantities and whether you want calculations, and return a fixed price.

    3. Fabricate

Everything is cut, threaded and assembled in the workshop. If you ordered calculations, each bracket type is calculated first.

    4. Deliver to site

Delivered to your site anywhere in the UK, bundled by area, with any calculations you ordered issued alongside it.

A metalwork shop close to your site

Loadsafe was set up by people who have delivered electrical installations on London projects. Every support is engineered with a project manager's mindset: what it does to your programme, your labour on the floor plate and your handover file. We make supports and nothing else.
